Part of the Fretwork collection, the Fret Stool was debuted by Triqis at the London Design Festival in 2024. The collection draws on the gingerbread houses of Port of Spain, the timber homes shaped by French and British influence that captivated Kwaku Boateng during his childhood in Trinidad.
The stool’s profile echoes the cascading arches that framed the entrances of these houses. It is made from 5mm stainless steel with a hand-brushed finish, assembled from three parts and held together by two genuine cowhide leather straps. Small marks from fabrication are left visible as part of its character.
The straps are available in Bourbon or Black Brown leather. Both the leather and the steel age gracefully, gathering a character shaped by each owner’s use.
